A former student of legendary jazz theorist and composer George Russell, he became a fixture of NYC’s underground in the 90s, performing with Jojo Mayer’s Nerve and CocoRosie, and collaborating with icons like Quincy Jones and David Byrne. His iconic freewheeling sets on Lot Radio NYC are drenched in astounded comments. Blending deep jazz roots with cutting-edge production, Nakamura continues to push boundaries as one of contemporary music’s true innovators.
